A Beverley couple have been charged after police allegedly found them in possession of a large quantity of ammunition, mechanisms consistent with the manufacturing of firearms, and drugs.

Northam Detectives and Gang Crime Squad charged the man (49) and woman (51) after stopping a vehicle in Pinjarra about 9.40am on Thursday, July 5.

A Police spokesman alleged methamphetamine was found on the man and a number of firearm related items were found in the vehicle.

Following this, a search was executed at a Beverley home.

The man is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Friday July 6.

The woman, who was charge with two drug related offences, was due to appear in court at a later date.
