A team of helping hands may be closer than you think during the COVID-19 pandemic.
An army of volunteers from Wheatbelt grassroots group Toodyay Locals Care are on a mission to look after the vulnerable and isolated in their town.
Providing food, firewood, transport, doing people's grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions is just some of things the group of volunteers provides within their community.
But it is also a group effort with the Bendigo Bank Toodyay branch donating a home for their operations and donations constantly flooding in from local businesses.
In the wake of COVID-19, Toodyay Locals Care founder Roz Davidson said on the front-line of care, she had seen many in need not asking for help.
"We always see people not asking for help," she said.
"The local traders know their customers and I get most of my referrals for help from them.
"People are too proud to ask and often they don't know where to ask.
"Just ask - if we can do it we will do it, if we can't, we can find the right person who can help.
"The sense of community is like nothing I have ever seen before; that is why I live in Toodyay."
The 65-year-old said caring for those in need within Toodyay had expanded to a 60-hour a week job, with friendship and company becoming a vital part of their service.
"There are a lot of people already out there isolated," she said.
"Sometimes I go and deliver food to people and stay for two hours because they need a chat.
"In rural communities isolation is already a major issue and it is only going to get worse."
Ms Davidson's advice; stay at home, and if you have to go out, stay safe and be mindful.
"As an essential service we can move around," she said.
"I have been very careful, if I get coronavirus who is going to help these people?"
