One of Northam's leading martial arts groups has been handed a donation from an organisation that prides itself on community support.
Bendigo Bank Northam - Toodyay have shown their support for STRYKA Fight Team in the form of a major donation as part of their ongoing local community support programs.
The Bendigo Bank Northam - Toodyay Branch team, comprising of Branch Manager Kirsten Barrack, Board Community Officer Debbie Nichols, Customer Relationship Officer Andrew Lee and Customer Service Officers Lisa Fernihough and Kelsey Laird recently attended a STRYKA training session at Northam PCYC to formally hand over a cheque for $2000.
STRYKA coaches Guy and Fi Mead were thrilled to receive such a generous donation which will go directly towards the purchase and maintenance of vital training and competition equipment for 2020.
Mr Mead was quick to point out that it would have been impossible for STRYKA to have achieved the amazing successes that the team has realised over the past couple of years without the incredible levels of support from the community.
Bendigo Bank Northam - Toodyay Branch Manager Kirsten Barrack was particularly impressed with the fact by the STRYKA concept to positively influence the mindset of our local at risk youth.
She noted that initiatives such as these were very much in keeping with Bendigo Bank's own goals to actively support local communities.
STRYKA Fight Team is a not for profit Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) incorporated sporting association.
