On February 2 the Northam Swimming Club welcomed 22 swimming clubs from around WA for the annual Northam Open.
This was the biggest meet held by the club since 2014, with a staggering 911 entries.
Among the 211 competitors was Joshua Hofer OAM, para-olympian and Swimming WA ambassador.
This season's meet was rescheduled to coincide with the opening of the new pool.
The change paid off with many clubs wanting to come and enjoy the new facilities.
Thanks to the Shire of Northam, not only did swimmers enjoy the 50m solar heated olympic swimming pool, but also the new competition lane ropes and the latest starting blocks for both ends of the pool.
The 25m lap pool came in handy for athlete warm-ups and cool downs and grandstand seating was a hit with spectators, providing shade and a great view of the pool.
The Northam Swimming Club was delighted with the outcome and a great day was had by everyone.
The Club is looking forward to hosting many more successful events at the new venue.
