Following the closure of Northam's last hardware store, Mitre 10, last month, tenders are about to close for a proposed $3 million Bunnings Warehouse to take its place.
The Avon Valley Advocate understands that Subiaco Building Company and Capstone Construction will head construction works for Bunnings owner, Wesfarmers.
They have called for tenders from 105 trades including demolition, roofing and stairs, which will close on Friday, February 14.
The project is planned for the corner of Peel Terrace and Oliver Street, the previous site of Mitre 10.
Wesfarmers and the Shire of Northam have declined to comment.
