Avon Valley Pony Club members Tina and Hannah Smith, and Jess and Tayah Joy joined the Wine and Horses annual Alzheimer's Ride to Northam in October.
At just 10 years old Hannah and Tayah completed the 25 kilometres from Northam to Clackline.
Finishing at Avon Brook Winery for lunch, Hannah announced: "That was too easy, so I'd like to do the 50km ride to Wooroloo next time".
This year's ride raised $30,482.10 for Australian Alzheimer's Research Foundation in Nedlands, bringing the total raised over six years to more than $150,000 for the Alzheimer's cause so far.
We had a great group of riders who raised $15,000 leading up to the event via their everyday hero fundraising pages.
It was really wonderful to see so many of our volunteers dressing up, setting up lollie trees and surprises for the riders and having a great day as well.
Thank you to every rider, volunteer and supporter of this event for making it such a success. The feedback has been really enthusiastic with some riders trying to book for next year already.
Our dates for 2020 Northam Ride supporting Australian Alzheimer's Research Foundation are: October 10 and 11, 2020, with a back up date in case of inclement weather of October 31 and November 1, 2020.
Bookings will open mid 2020 and will be via www.northamride.com.
Hoping to see everyone return plus a few new faces in 2020.
