The Holyoake Wheatbelt Community Alcohol and Drug Service (WCADS) has taken over an iconic Northam building, in a move to serve the community in a one stop shop.
The service is now operating from its new premises at 133 Fitzgerald Street in Northam starting November 1, 2019.
Previously located across two offices at 4 Elizabeth Place, and 95 Wellington Street in Northam, the new Holyoake WCADS office now offers all its services within the iconic building on Fitzgerald Street.
Holyoake WCADS regional manager Peter Osborn said the relocation was a positive step for the service's operations.
"The move effectively means that residents in Northam and surrounding suburbs can now access all the free counselling and support programs in one convenient location," he said.
"Besides the distinct exterior facade, the office interiors have been renovated to make the space more welcoming and comfortable for clients and staff alike.
"This is thanks to generous funding from Lotterywest for the fit out.
"This new office is another expression of our commitment to excellent customer service.
"We welcome anyone who is impacted by alcohol and drugs to experience the benefits of our welcoming, holistic and non-judgemental approach."
Holyoake WCADS counselling and support services are available free of cost thanks to ongoing funding from the Mental Health Commission, and the WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) through its Country Primary Health Network.
In order to ensure a smooth transition, the Holyoake WCADS contact details remain unchanged.
