Mobile Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support service bus Desert Rose will be visiting the Wheatbelt to offer locals easy access government services.
The Mobile Service Centre will visit Pingelly, Brookton, Beverley, Quairading, Wongan Hills, Dalwallinu, Moora and Goomalling in the following weeks.
Mobile Services Centres are 20 tonne trucks operated by staff from the Department of Human Services, providing rural Australians with friendly face-to-face service and tailored support.
Staff on board this trip can help with Centrelink claims, Medicare registrations and accessing online services.
A social worker will also accompany service staff on this trip to offer short-term counselling and referrals.
Information about Department of Veterans' Affairs programs and support services will also be available.
Dates are as follows:
- Pingelly on Tuesday 13 August from 10am to 4pm, located near Memorial Park on Parade Street.
- Brookton on Wednesday 14 August, from 9.30am to 4pm, located opposite Rural Traders on Robinson Road.
- Beverley on Thursday 15 August, from 9am to 4pm, located opposite IGA on Vincent Street.
- Quairading on Friday 16 August, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, located at the Community Resource, Centre carpark on Parker Street.
- Wongan Hills on Monday 19 August from 10am to 3.30pm, located near the Community Resource Centre on Wongan Road.
- Dalwallinu, on Tuesday 20 August, from 9am to 3.30pm, located opposite the Discovery Centre on Johnston Street.
- Moora on Wednesday 21 August, from 9am to 3.30pm, located at the Swimming Pool car park on Roberts Street.
- Goomalling on Thursday 22 August, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, located near the Railway Station on Railway Terrace.
