Detectives have charged a man with a string of offences following an incident at the Northam Boulevard Shopping Centre on Sunday morning.
It is alleged about 9.35am, the 36-year-old-man man, armed with two knives, attempted to wound an 18-year-old woman at the shopping centre located on Fitzgerald Street East.
A short time later it is alleged the man assaulted a 63-year-old man in the shopping centre and the man received a wound to his back and was treated at Northam Hospital.
The man has since been released from hospital.
It is further alleged the man, still armed with the knives, entered a parked vehicle that was occupied by an 8-year-old child.
The child's parent saw the incident happen and approached the man, pleading with him to get out of the car.
The man fled on foot and was apprehended by police.
The man is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday, June 17 charged with attempted unlawfully to kill, aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm, with intent to do grievous bodily harm unlawfully wounds another, attempted armed robbery, and possessing child exploitation material.
Northam Detectives are asking motorists who were in the vicinity of the shopping centre and Fitzgerald Street between 9.15am and 10.15am who has dash-cam vision to come forward.
