As part of a visit to the Wheatbelt region last week, Transport Minister Rita Saffioti visited students at Miling Primary School to discuss local roads.
The Minister spoke to the whole school following the official opening of the Miling Bypass works.
Students had also been involved in the initial turning of the soil at the beginning of the major project.
Miling Primary School Principal Shelley Murray said the opening was a terrific opportunity for students to share their experiences about the effects of the roadworks as they have traveled daily by bus to school.
Agriculture Region MP Darren West was also part of the visit to the school.
