Twenty five teams competed in the Netball WA Wheatbelt Goldfields Regional Championships at the Merredin Regional Community and Leisure Centre last Sunday.
The Eastern Goldfields Netball Association enjoyed a dominant carnival, winning the Open, 17 and under, 14 and under and 13 and under divisions.
Hosts Merredin were crowned winners in the 15 and under division, while Northam emerged victorious in 12 and under.
The day was a great success with teams from Corrigin & Districts Netball Association, Central Wheatbelt Netball Association, Dowerin Netball Club and Yilgarn Netball Association also taking part.
Netball WA stakeholder manager Jo Smith paid tribute to the players, coaches, umpires, managers and officials for their outstanding efforts on the day.
"Over 75 games of netball were played, with umpires allocated and there were also four umpire courses held," Ms Smith said.
"The Merredin Netball Association did a great job hosting the event, in particular president Georgia Brown, Jasmin Holmes and Jade Irving.
"These events don't just happen without a significant level of meticulous organisation.
"I would also like to recognise Netball WA regional office staff Leanne Clune and Erica Carlson who spent countless hours preparing for the event, as well all the Netball WA Central staff members Krista Stirling and Karen Rigg."
