Seventeen golfers were out in near perfect conditions last Saturday, May 25 to contest the Avon 4x4 trophy, a par event.
Off the beaten track, traversing inhospitable terrain, often not seeing another human for the whole journey, not only the domain of our sponsor but a description of many of our golfer's day on the course.
One golfer was having no issues with the course, cruising down the fairways, chips and putts sinking with ease.
Jeremy Lawler started well with a couple of pars on the first nine to turn at the halfway mark with a plus 2.
The second nine set up Lawler's win with a further three pars and a plus 4 to end the day with the winning score of plus 6.
Bragging rights for who is the best golfer at the Lawler house is up for grabs, with father Terry winning the first event this year.
Runner-up on the day, with a credible plus 4 was Chadd Hunt.
Avon Valley Toyota Novelties:

Best third shot: No. 3 Andrew Quin; No. 5 Jeremy Lawler; No. 15 Matt Woods (eagle); No. 18 Matt Woods.
Max Hubble's putter can sometimes be erratic, however it was straight and true when it came to the money hole on No 8, sinking a huge putt to take home the cash.
Last week Matt Woods took out the Eagles' Nest trophy for his eagle on No. 18.
Not to be complacent this week, he scored two eagles on holes 2 and 15.
