Last Friday Bert Hawke was awash with blue, green, yellow and red as the St Joseph's School students completed in their inter house school carnival.
The chilly start didn't dampen their enthusiasm and as the day rolled on many records were broken.
The Year 8 boys 400m record was broken by Aiden O'Driscoll in a time of 1.04.41, Jelena Manuel broke both the Open girls 400m record in 1.15.88 and the 200m in 33.69. Other action on the track included more records broken by Ethan Budas in the Year 10 boys 400m in 1.01.44 and Zara McCagh in the Year 8 girls 400m in 1.21.78.
The day finished off with the team relay races which was the highlight for the day.
For the students in Year 12, this was their last sports carnival event they would compete in for their schooling life.
As with all these events, there had to be a winning team and that team was de Vialar.
They took out most points for junior, senior and overall champions with a massive tally of 5749 points.
