After five weeks of pre-election campaigning, the day is finally here.
With more than 16 million Australians set to take part in the Federal Election, the Avon Valley and surrounds have headed to the polls to have their say.
More than 26 per cent of Pearce voters dodged the queues on Saturday morning, either submitting a postal vote or heading to an early voting centre.
Residents have until 6pm to cast their votes at more than 7000 polling locations across the country.
