A fine group of golfers assembled at the Northam Golf Club last Saturday to contest the Bob Davey Real Estate trophy, a stableford event.
Good golf is like real estate, all about location, location, location, therefore being on the fairway and not in the rough is vital in amassing a good score.
One player who knows, and has played every inch of the Northam course is Peter 'Richo' Richards.
Richo, a loquacious left hander, has been playing good golf lately and the days windy conditions and fast fairways was going to suit his style of golf.
Richo's golf style has been compared to the famous names of Day and Palmer, not Jason and Arnold but more like Doris and Clive.
Richo's start on the front nine was a little slow with only three points for the first three holes. He recovered over the remaining six holes to have 18 points by the halfway mark.
Richo found his form on the second nine, playing outstanding golf to finish the nine with 23 points, a winning total of 41 points to take out the day's event.
Runner-up was Don Bates with 39 points.
