Family minded Sarina Narkle, originally from coastal Mid West Yamitji Country, moved to York in 2005. She and her husband felt it would be a good community to live in and raise their two sons.
Very community minded, Sarina is a friendly, familiar face at the York Community Resource Centre (CRC), working there for almost two and a half years now. She is at her best interacting with and organising for the community of York.
Also involved in the community at a very personal level, she, with Angela and three others are "Angela's Angels". A team of ladies currently active raising funds for potentially lifesaving surgery for Angela.
The most influential people in Sarina's life are her parents. Her father in particular leading the way by example. He has stood strong in his community, raising awareness of racial discrimination by confronting and insisting on just and fair treatment of his children.
This has impacted Sarina over the course of her lifetime and instilled in her the advantages of effective communication.
Talking about issues and enabling the more vulnerable in the community to acquire life skills are her key motivators every day of her life.
She is a woman of positive influence who is genuine.
