Bakers Hill residents will see improved facilities at the Recreation Centre thanks to a $90,000 grant from the federal government.
Barbecues, a nature playground and new shade structures will be installed as a result of the grant from the Community Development Grants Programme.
Federal Member for Pearce Christian Porter said it was an important project.
"The government is delivering local investment that our communities expect and deserve," he said.
"The Bakers Hill Recreation Centre is well utilised by the community, so it's important that we keep it up to date and meeting the needs of the local community and visitors to the town.
"It's great to be able to deliver this funding which the community of Bakers Hill has been calling out for."
Shire of Northam president Chris Antonio welcomed the funding as a boost to the region.
"Bakers Hill is a thriving community with a clear future vision - this funding will provide an exciting opportunity for the community to work towards achieving that vision."
