The Shire of Northam is seeking community feedback on the sale of Victoria Street Oval to Uniting Church Homes for the development of aged care services.
Lots 189 to 195 Wellington Street, also known as Victoria Street Oval is proposed to be sold for $969.000, less than the valuation received in 2018.
In the notice to residents the Shire of Northam said the land would be used by Uniting Church Homes for a residential aged care facility, independent living accommodation for the elderly and ancillary professional and administrative support space.
The Shire said the sale of property is conditional on the basis that the development approval process must commence within eighteen months of the contract of sale being signed.
Written submissions in regards to the sale can be made to the Shire until 5pm Wednesday, March 27.
