The York Men’s Shed has been successful in receiving funding under the latest round of Veteran and Community Grants.
Federal Member for Pearce Christian Porter announced the funding success during a visit to the town last Thursday.
The York Men’s Shed will receive a grant of $1999 for the purchase an electrical safety tag, test and recording system.
Mr Porter congratulated the group.
“The York Men’s Shed is committed to improving the lives of those who have served and sacrificed for our nation in practical and tangible ways,” he said.
“The grant will certainly go a long way to assisting the Shed to continue their work and enriching the lives of veterans and their families, by providing improved facilities and enhanced services.”
Ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community are encouraged to apply for funding through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs’ Veteran and Community Grants program.
Veteran and Community Grants are now available through the Australian Government’s Community Grants Hub.
