Avon Valley Showjumping & Pony Club starts up again on February 17.
As well as riding, this day will incorporate the annual general meeting plus shooting training on the new air pistols for anyone who is entering the Tetrathlon over February 23-24.
“We are very lucky to have Nikita Mawhirt who represented Australia at the 2018 Youth Olympics in Modern Pentathlon to provide the lessons,” chief trainer Jess Joy said.
Individual 20 minute lessons will be $20 or shared lessons with 1 other will be $15 each.
A Tetrathlon includes running, swimming, shooting and horse jumping.
Non riders of any age can also enter as a pair or team of 3 or 4, so if like to join the fun, contact the Pony Club to find a rider to make a team.
It’s a great event for the whole family to take part in.
Other exciting events to be held at Northam Equestrian Park this year include the WA Pony Club Festival over June 15 and 16, and the Avon Zone Pony Club Camp from July 6 to 8.
The AVSJPC is a small group of friendly kids that meet once a month on a Sunday.
The club is seeking expressions of interest for Riders Without Ponies memberships.
Riders with ponies can also come and try Pony Club on a day membership to see if they like it.
