Residents in the Central Wheatbelt have been told to take action with thunderstorms making their way to parts of the Midwest-Gascoyne and Goldfields-Midlands.
In an alert, issued by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, residents in Merredin, Moora, Northam, Paynes Find, Southern Cross and Wongan Hills were told they could be impacted by the weather.
DFES said the weather is not unusual for this time of year, but could damage homes and make travel dangerous.
The Bureau of Meteorology advised at 12:45pm that radar and satellite imagery showed a line of developing thunderstorms extending from Moora to Beacon and moving towards the south southeast.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones in the warning area during this afternoon and evening, BOM said.
DFES said those who find themselves impacted by storms should close their curtains and blinds and stay inside away from windows.
