The Hill Cafe Co, a social enterprise run by members of the Fresh Start Recovery Program celebrated it’s first birthday on Monday, January 21.
The cafe, based at the Wheatbelt Health Network on Holtfreter Avenue, is used as a way to train men who are a part of Fresh Start’s drug rehabilitation program.
The first birthday celebrations saw visits from Fresh Start Founder Dr George O’Neil, Fresh Start Northam chief executive Jeff Claughton, Shire of Northam President Chris Antonio and a number of community members who made the venture possible.
Dr O’Neil said he was privileged that the men worked at the cafe came to him for treatment for the addiction.
