The body of a man believed to be that of missing Northam man John Irvine has been located by police.
The discovery follows a five day search for the grandfather who was last seen at a service station in Quairading asking for directions back to Northam.
His body was found in the search area within Mundaring Forrest.
Police and volunteers narrowed down their search area on Wednesday night when the car Mr Irvine was driving was found in the Mundaring State Forrest area.
The search for Mr Irvine on Thursday involved the help of nine mounted police horses, a helicopter specialists trackers and DFES state emergency service volunteers will scour the area.
Police thanked the community for their assistance.
