The AFL’s National Draft is a time of both hope and anxiety for the country’s finest young footballers looking to take the leap from junior programs into elite level footy.
On Thursday will see more than 100 bright young prospects crossing their fingers as they aspire to be snapped up by an AFL club.
Two of those young guns hoping to make the list are the Avon Valley's very own talents Sydney Stack and Ian 'Bobby' Hill.
The boys who spent their Northam football career playing for the Federals Football Club have already made headlines for their abilities on the field.
Ian 'Bobby' Hill
Despite facing injury this year, the small forward has had experts anticipating him getting picked up by an AFL side.
His speed, agility and goal sense has helped him be named in the State Academy for the past three years.
In the 2018 season Hill played seven games for the Perth Demons Colts and two for the Reserves side.
In the Colts Hill averaged 19.7 disposals a game and kicked 12 goals 11.
For the Reserves he averaged 10.5 disposals and had three behinds.
Sydney Stack
Like his cousin, Sydney Stack has shown his ability through his appearances at the past three State Academy tournaments.
Despite being 177cm the midfielder and forward has proved himself as someone who will make his way through the pack to win the ball.
This year Stack played for the Colts, Reserves and League side for Perth.
In his 11 games for the Colts he averaged 23.2 disposals a game and scored three goals and three behinds.
