The previously named Managers Tearooms and Restaurant has been officially re-opened with a new name and business venture.
Summer Creek Restaurant and Brewery in Bakers Hill held an opening on Saturday, October 10 for special guests from within the Shire of Northam.
The newly operating micro-brewery had a ribbon cutting by owners Annette and Rupert Poulton alongside shadow minister for regional development Jim Chown.
The heritage listed property was established by Edward Vivian Harvey Keane in the early 1880’s.
He received the Bakers Hill property as part-payment from the WA Government for building the railway line from Childow to York.
He built the Fremantle Town Hall and following the death of Edward Thomas Blacket he oversaw the finalisation of St Georges Cathedral in Perth.
Previously known as the Managers Tearooms and Restaurant running in what was the original dairy building, Summer Creek has now expanded to include a dining area and a boutique brewery.
The Poulton’s serve their own produced beer, vegetables, chicken and quail eggs, honey and fruit.
Summer Creek is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12pm until 10pm at 9 Yates St Bakers Hill.
