Thieves have stolen an estimated $400 worth of alcohol belonging to the Northam Railway Football Club when their change rooms were broken into on Friday night.
Club secretary Rob Harris said the unknown person or persons gained entry by breaking a door.
“We used to get broken into on a regular basis in the old rooms but thought this new one would be more secure,” he said.
“I think they were after money and alcohol.”
He said the incident has been reported to police and that the Shire of Northam will cover the cost of repairs and adding additional security to the rooms.
