A special event AvonLink Service will be scheduled to help boost visitor numbers at next year’s Moondyne Festival in Toodyay.
The service was granted by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti following a request from local Labor MLC Darren West on behalf of Festival organisers.
The Minister has also directed the Public Transport Authority to help promote the Toodyay Moondyne Festival and the special event AvonLink service via the TransWA website and by installing event posters at TransWA booking locations.
“I am delighted that the AvonLink will be running for the Moondyne Festival and thank Minister Saffioti for granting our request and promoting this major community event,” Mr West said.
The McGowan Government will also continue increased significant sponsorship of the Toodyay Moondyne Festival through the Regional Events Scheme.
Mr West said that such support by the McGowan Government would help make the 2019 Moondyne Festival the biggest and best ever.
Mr West urged organisers of local events to contact his office on 1800 812 295 should they seek a Special Events AvonLink or MerredinLink services in the future.
