From December 2-8 a small group of volunteers from Perth will be visiting Avonvale Primary School to tutor selected students across Years One to Six for a week on behalf of Teach Learn Grow’s Rural Program.
To students this week is also known as TLG Week where they can learn about a variety of career opportunities and also engage in one-on-one tuition of mathematics selected by teachers for each student.
The goal of TLG Week is to encourage students’ involvement and attendance at school, as well as widen their future aspirations.
These learning activities written for TLG Week are all based on the West Australian curriculum.
Teach Learn Grow also provides another program called eMentor, which aims to provide selected upper primary school students with a role model and increase their student resilience, improve personal and social capabilities, and enhance their emotional intelligence.
All programs are sponsored and fundraised, so that Teach Learn Grow can achieve a vision of an Australia where all children, regardless of background, location or circumstance, can reach their educational potential.
