Northam Primary School is among 12 schools that will receive a modern transformation following a $5.6 million investment from the State Government.
Five school administration areas will be upgraded and improvements made to toilets at 12 public schools in this financial year.
Labor Agricultural Region members Darren West and Laurie Graham said they were pleased to confirm that Northam Primary School and Brookton District High School will each receive $80,000 for much needed upgrades to their toilet facilities.
“Our local schools and teachers do a fantastic job providing a first class education for our students, however there is no doubt that facilities in some of our older schools are in need of an upgrade,” said Mr West.
“This investment will help bring facilities up to current standards and I am sure will it be welcomed by students and staff.”
Detailed planning and scoping for the upgrades will begin in coming months and all works are expected to be finished by July 2019.
A total of $4.36 million will be spent on administration upgrades and $960,000 on toilet improvements in the 2018-19 financial year.
