Did you make it down to the Northam Farmer’s Show on the weekend?
Show-goers lined the streets surrounding the Northam Show grounds to buy show bags, view the artwork and award winners, get up close with some animals and enjoy live music.
Acts and performers on show over the weekend included Girls Girls Girls WA Trickriders, stiltwalkers from Sensational Stiltwalkers and band Moose of the Loose.
Shire of Northam President Chris Antonio gave an official welcome to those attending the show and thanked volunteers from the Agricultural Society for their hard work.
This year life member of the Northam Agricultural Society Carmel Sands, pictured above, was honoured in the cookery class section for her dedication to the show.
Cookery steward Healther Meiklem said Mrs Sands is a great supporter of Northam and Southern Brook community events.
“She is still today a welcome sight at many of the local functions,” Mrs Meiklem said.
“Mrs Sands coffee cake is always a welcome addition to many of the functions held at the Southern Brook Hall.
“The committee look forward to providing a pictorial display of Mrs Sands and thank her for the amazing support she has given over the years and continues to give still today.”
