The Federals Football Club league side have lost their bid to play in the 2018 Avon Football Association grand final going down to Keller/Tammin at home on Sunday.
The Federals lead at every break but were outscored by the visitors in the final term to be defeated by a goal 9.10 (64) to 8.10 (58).
The game could have gone either way with the back to back premiers kicking away in the 20th minute of the last quarter to secure the twin.
Nathan Phillips was the match’s highest goal scorer with three on the board followed by James Smith, Luke Tanner, Robert Forrest, Aaron Elari and Mitchell Henry Jnr who all kicked one goal each.
James Smith who celebrated his 50th game was also named as one of the best on ground for the day.
The Federals reserve side had an impressive 112 win over Keller/Tammin is secure their place in the grand final next week against hometown rivals the Railways.
The reserves kept the away team scoreless in the first to establish a 34 point lead early on in the piece.
The side kicked away with thanks to Harley Corbett kicking 8.4 and Mitchell Johnson with 5 goals.
The reserves finished the home and away season as minor premiers with 11 wins, two loses and a draw followed by the Railways with 11 wins and three losses.
The Federals reserves side with meet the Railways for the 2018 grand final at 12.15pm on Sunday at the Tammin Football Ground before the Railways and Keller/Tammin league sides play for the cup.
The Federals Football Club medal count will be on Friday 14 September from 6pm at the Northam Recreation Centre.
