Sixteen crews from the Department of Fire and Emergency services were called to Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre in Northam after a riot broke out around 8.45pm on Sunday.
The crews were called out to the facility at 10pm to attend to a fire that caused an estimated $500,000 damage to accommodation units.
The unrest started after an inmate was taken to hospital with self-harm injuries.
A spokesperson from the Australian Border Force said they could not comment on individual cases but the detainee was taken to hospital last night and is receiving medical care.
“A disturbance by a small number of detainees at Yongah Hill IDC has now ended,” they said.
“All detainees and staff are safe and accounted for and there have been no reported injuries.
“We will take all appropriate steps to stamp out such activity and if criminal offences have occurred, they will be referred to police.”
