The completion of road improvements on Great Eastern Highway in Bakers Hill have been delayed by a month because of weather conditions.
MainRoads WA started the works between Berry Brow Road and Tames Road in May to upgrade existing line-markings, construct turning lanes and modify access to the tourist information bay.
During this time the Shire of Northam also started works to upgrade local roads.
The Shire of Northam thanked motorists and locals for their patience.
“Work is continuing with the new kerbing and footpaths to the access points and truck parking bay in close proximity to the pie shop,” they said.
“Improvements to the Berry Brow Road intersection have commenced.
“We are anticipating all works to be completed and an asphalt seal to be placed by the end of September 2018.”
Traffic is currently educed to a single shared lane and speed limits have been reduced.
MainRoads said the works will provide improved safety for pedestrians and road users, better traffic flow and upgraded parking.
