At Northam Primary School we are working hard to ensure there is a range of activities where children can discover, imagine, create and learn through play. Kindergarten is the first learning experience a child has of school, of the wonder and excitement of learning, discovery and exploration.
While Kindergarten is not compulsory in Western Australia, attendance is highly recommended as children build on important social and emotional skills that help them throughout their school life.
They also develop early maths, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
Kindergarten runs for 15 hours each week.
Northam Primary School provides a full day program of 5 days in a fortnight, where students attend 2 days one week and 3 days the following week.
We have a purpose built onsite Kindergarten room and our students are integrated throughout the school getting access to our library, science, music and PE specialists.
We intend to run a series of Kindy Café information sessions during Term 4.
This will give parents and children the opportunity to meet the teacher and other families, and to find out what is planned for the 2019.
Enrolments for 2019 are now open.
If a child is 4-years-old on or before the 30 June 2019 then an application for Kindergarten can be submitted.
Please visit the Northam Primary School Administration Office between 8am and 4pm weekdays to collect an application form.
