It has been a whirlwind first four weeks of Term 3 for Marisa as she takes on the role of principal, whilst substantive principal Terry Martino is on leave.
Marisa has moved from her role as Deputy Principal at Warwick Senior High School and is relishing the opportunities that the role of principal at Northam Senior High School provides.
Marisa has been overwhelmed by how welcoming the community has been, and has been busy getting to know staff, students and the community.
Marisa is keen to work closely with the School Council, staff and students and is driving business right from the outset.
She is most interested in the image of the school in the community, and as such, there has been a keen focus on the school uniform during this term.
“I want our students to look good and feel proud to be a student here at Northam Senior High School. I feel that the school uniform is a key part of looking good and feeling good,” said Principal Del Pin.
School attendance and behaviour management are two other key areas the new principal is reviewing throughout the rest of this school year.
“Students have a right to come to school and learn in a safe and supported environment,” she said.
Northam Senior High School Council chairperson Geoff Dickson welcomed Marisa from the outset and is excited to be working closely with her.
“I hope that all parents and carers throughout the school community welcome and support Marisa,” said Mr Dickson.
“Come and say hello, she is really approachable.
“As a School Council, we are looking forward to working with Marisa and her team to make Northam Senior High School, a school of choice.”
