Year 12 students studying the children, family and the community course at Northam Senior High school have been preparing frozen meals for Northam not-for-profit Share and Care.
They have produced 80 meals, both savoury and sweet, to donate to Share and Care as part of an assessment task.
In the weeks prior to donating, students looked at nutritional requirements and healthy meal options that could be frozen, before trailing the meal and then making it for Share and Care to hand out to people in need.
Students said the assessment has opened their eyes to the wider community, and they were all excited to create something for people less fortunate than themselves.
Share and Care chief executive officer Carol Jones said she was very grateful to all concerned and that it was an excellent insight for the students on how helping in the community can give volunteers a sense of purpose, pride, and belonging.
Share and Care is a community services organisation based in Northam.
