Admission fees for the new Bilya Koort Boodja Centre have been approved by the Shire of Northam Council.
The BKB centre, to be opened to the public in July, will have open times to coincide with the Northam Visitors Centre, 9am-4pm daily excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday.
A free family pass will be provided to all households in the Shire of Northam in the first year of operation as well as a free family pass to all Aboriginal residents of the greater Ballardong region.
The cost of mailing the free family pass to each resident within the Shire of Northam via an unaddressed Mail delivery is estimated at $1,000.
Fees for the Centre are as follows:
- Adult – $10
- Child (5-15 years) – $5
- Concession – $5
- Family (two adults and two children) – $25
- Additional child – $5
- Bus tours (25+ passengers) – 80 per cent of full rate
- School groups – 80 per cent of full rate
Room hire:
- Workshop/Exhibition Space – Community Rate $50.00 per half Day/ $100 per full Day
- Workshop/Exhibition Space – Commercial Rate $100.00 per half Day/ $200 per full Day
- Meeting Room – Community Rate $30.00 per Hour
- Meeting Room – Commercial Rate $60.00 per Hour
Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the open times, free family passes and admission rates.
