Patricia Rose at Artists Revolution has been working as a volunteer with the community for twenty years.
In that time she has built a network of artists and community workers to serve the broader community in making Northam a better place by creating a cultural centre that draws people together.
Patricia will be showing a body of art works at her 50th Birthday exhibition alongside other prominent local sculpture artists Tom de Munk Kerkmeer, Nic Compton, and Paul Marres.
The exhibition will be presented by Multimedia artists Palooka, which is an eclectic group of artists that includes musicians, painters, sculptures, builders, architects, with most prominently known artist Tim Burns who will be show casing his award-winning film Lukes Party.
Lukes Party is a short film based on the Stolen Generation, and how a Nyoongar woman is trying to tell her story among many interruptions that intrude on her life.
The film has an amusing lead up to what is a shocking interpretation of a modern-day crisis.
All in all, the Exhibition/Birthday party will be an exciting experience with a contemporary, urban twist that reflects our cultural utopia/ dystopia.
Palooka will be providing musicians that will be organic in nature but also open to others joining in the making of music.
There will also be food and drinks for sale, which will help to raise funds to keep Artists Revolution alive.
Donations and sponsorship is also sought for the continuation of Artists Revolutions community projects, so if you are interested in our cause please come and join us for the 50th Birthday Exhibition/Party for Artists Revolutions founding member Patricia Rose.
