A burglary on a home address in Northam leads to the fraudulent use of a multicurrency card.
Between Friday the 9th of May and Sunday the 11th of May 2014, an unknown person has entered a house in Northam, possibly through a kitchen window. The property was ransacked with jewellery, a laptop and a multicurrency card stolen.
The multi-currency card was later used to buy items at the nearby Caltex Service Station and obtain cash at a National Australia Bank ATM in Fitzgerald Street.
Police have released a CCTV image of a male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.
The male is described as:
- 20 to 25 years of age
- Medium build
- Dark complexion
- Small amount of facial hair on sides and a moustache.
- Wearing a black long sleeve shirt, long black pants, black shoes and a red and black hat (believed to be Chicago Bulls).

BEING ARMED IN A WAY SO AS TO CAUSE FEAR – NORTHAM WA

A firearm was produced by a male in a terrifying ordeal for a Northam family.
At about 12.30am on Wednesday 2 July 2014, two males attended a residential address in Northam where they attempted to speak with the occupants at the address. After a short conversation, one of the males produced a firearm and pointed it at the front door in order to threaten the occupants.
Police have released a CCTV image of a male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.
The male is described as:
- Between 30 and 40 years of age
- Fair skinned
- Full facial beard
- Large tattoo on the left forearm and smaller tattoo on the right forearm.
- Wearing a black beanie, dark coloured T-shirt with a large ship logo on the front and dark coloured pants

STEALING – CASTLE HOTEL – AVON TERRACE YORK WA

A light fingered female decided to take what wasn’t hers from a York hotel.
At about 5.50pm on Tuesday the 22nd of July 2014, a woman was sitting at the bar at the Castle Hotel on Avon Terrace and moved away momentarily, leaving her mobile and purse on the bar. A female sitting nearby quickly moved in and picked up the belongings and left the hotel with them.
Police have released a CCTV image of a female who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.
The female is described as:
- Dark skinned
- Early to late 20’s
- Long hair tied up
- Wearing a black top, light coloured jeans and black boots.

BURGLARY – BORONIA AVENUE – WUNDOWIE WA

Two males broke into a store in Wundowie, stealing nearly $1000 worth of alcohol while another male and a female waited in the car.
At approximately 4.15am on Wednesday the 13th of November 2013, a gold Toyota Echo sedan pulled up to the side entry of a shop on Boronia Avenue in Wundowie. A male and female stayed in the car while two males attempted to gain entry into the store via the side gate. Unsuccessful, they moved around to the front of the store where they cut open a protective mesh fence and entered the store. Once inside they stole nearly $1000 worth of alcohol before leaving the area in the vehicle they arrived in.
Police have released a CCTV image of three males who they believe can assist them with their inquiries.
The first male is described as:
- Fair skinned
- 35-40 years old
- Long hair tied up
- Wearing a black jacket, black shorts, blue Kike shoes, a red and black cap.
- Possibly employed as a plasterer or painter.
The second male is described as:
- Dark skinned
- 25-30 years old
- Moustache
- Wearing black jumper, denim shorts and a black beanie.

INDECENT ASSAULT – HEAL STREET QUAIRADING WA

A 57 year old delivery driver was the victim of a shocking indecent assault while unloading her vehicle at a local supermarket in Quairading.
Around 2.00am on Friday the 17th of February 2012, the victim was unloading bakery items when a male approached her from behind and attempted to strike up a conversation. Busy with other deliveries and working on time constraints, the victim was reluctant to engage in conversation with the male. As the victim turned to enter the cab of her truck the male forcibly restrained her, pushing her backwards while indecently assaulting her on the outside of her clothing and making remarks of an indecent nature before she managed to push him away. Seizing the opportunity to escape the victim ran to the cab of her truck, got inside and quickly drove from the area.
Detectives have released a composite image of a male in the hope someone may be able to assist with his identity.

- 25 – 28 years
- Approximately 178cm
- Athletic build
- Neat short black hair
- Dark eyes

DAMAGE – ENSIGN DALE PLACE NORTHAM WA

A deliberate act of damage caused by a fire has left the owners of a garden nursery in Northam with a $40,000 damage bill.
At some stage between 2.00am and 2.50am on Tuesday the 3rd of April, 2012, an unknown offender cut a hole to the bottom of the fence to the garden centre on Ensign Dale Place, Northam. Once inside the yard the offender/s tipped over a jerry can filled with fuel and lit it up. The ignition quickly spread fast burning plastic pots, fibro sheets, dynamic lifter, a lawn mover, whipper snipper and a selection of potting plants. The fire also caused extensive damage to the shade cloth, fence and mulch.
Thankfully a passer-by noticed the fire and ran to a nearby service station to call the Fire Service. The actions of this person allowed the fire to be extinguished before any major damage was caused to the building and structure.

BURGLARY – GREY STREET YORK WA

Detectives have arrested the culprit responsible for a daytime burglary on a York home but remain on the search for the numerous items of jewellery stolen during the raid.
Around 5.30pm on Sunday the 30th of October 2011, the home owner was in the rear garden with his wife when he went inside the house to wash his hands when he was disturbed by a male standing in his kitchen with a handful of property. In an effort to retrieve his property the victim grabbed at the males jacket triggering him to drop the property on the floor, slide out of his jacket, and exit the home through the back door.
A search of the home revealed that the male escaped with in excess of ten thousand dollars in jewellery not yet recovered.
Detectives have released images of some of the items of jewellery stolen from the home in the hope that some of the items can be returned to their rightful owners.

FRAUD – TREWS ROAD YORK WA

A lady received a further blow after her car was broken into and her stolen credit card was used by a male later the same day to withdraw $1000 cash.
Sometime around 12.30pm on Thursday the 9th of June, 2011, an unknown person smashed the window of a RAV 4 sedan parked at the York District Hospital on Trews Road, York. The offender/s stole the lady’s purse containing cash and her credit cards. At around 2pm later that day, the lady’s credit card was fraudulently used by a male to withdraw $1000 from her account at an ATM machine in Mundaring.

The male is described as:
- Dark complexion
- Approximately 180cm

- Goatee and moustache

STEALING – NORTHAM CARAVAN PARK – YILGARN AVENUE NORTHAM WA

The owners of a caravan park in Northam were left flabbergasted after an unknown couple drove into their caravan park during broad day light and simply hooking up one of their caravans and drove away.
At some stage between 5.00pm on Friday the 28th of October, 2011 and 4.00pm on Tuesday the 1st of November, 2011, the caravan was taken from the Northam Caravan Park on Yilgarn Avenue, Northam. Noticing the caravan wasn’t parked in its usual position the owner asked around the grounds if anyone has seen it and decided to check CCTV footage. The footage revealed a White Commodore sedan enter the caravan park at around 6.40pm on 28th October, 2011, where the occupants hitched up and drove the $2,500 caravan away.
The vehicle of interest was seen at a nearby service station just prior to attending the caravan park. Unfortunately no registration number was obtained for the vehicle. However the registration number for the caravan is 1TKM525. It is described as a 1977 Coronet Caravan, white and green in colour.
Police managed to recover the stolen caravan as it was dumped on Fairclough Road, Datatine. To further help with their investigation they have released CCTV footage of a male and female who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
The male is described as:
- Fair complexion
- Short almost shaved dark hair
- Wearing an orange/red t-shirt with grey hooded jacket and denim jeans.
The female is described as:
- Dark hair pulled back into a bun
- Wearing dark track pants and white jackets.
