The Northam Army Cadets have said farewell to one of their long standing officers Terry Dyer, this week.
Mr Dyer was a cadet through Northam Senior High School in the 1950’s, then went on to join and serve in the army.
He has been with the Northam Cadets as an officer for more than 10 years and members said he has been an asset to the unit.
They said he has always been there for the teenagers and was looked up to by some as a grandfather figure.
“From 519 Army Cadet Unit Northam past and present cadets we would like to say a massive thankyou to Terry Dyer,” the group said.
The Northam Army Cadets also said goodbye to Paula White, a parent help who had been with the group for the past five years.
