April 25 – ANZAC Day two-person Ambrose event sponsored by Bendigo Bank Northam
IN a new concept this year the Anzac Day golf competition included a memorial day for Life Members.
A day to reflect on the sacrifice our war veterans made and also to honour our life members both past and present.
It was a great turn out for this inaugural event, with 30 players contesting the Bendigo Bank trophy.
The competition was a fun day, however the contest was intense with less than two strokes separating the top three teams.
At the end of the day it was Bruce Smart and Ray Wiktorski in first place with a score of 62.
The second team was Grant Scollay and Gary Balt with 63.5 and third team was Bob Allert and Peter Richards with 63.75.

At the end of the day a short tribute was made by Max Hubble to Bob Sermon the most recently deceased Life Member of the Club.
April 28 – Par event sponsored by Valley Ford /Northam Hyundai
A FINE day for the 14 starters and the dry course tested the players as par can be an unforgiving game.
Where some of the golfers ventured, a Ford Ranger would be more suitable vehicle to carry the clubs.
The scores at the end of the day reflected how tough the day was, with 12 of the 14 players ending up with a negative score.
Peter Oliver was having no such issues breezing through the course and finishing with a plus one for the day, taking out the sponsors trophy.
Runner-up with a score of even for the day was Don Bates.
Elders Insurance novelty winners: Gross winner Andrew Quin, No. 1 hole best second shot Ollie Griffiths, No. 6 Nearest the Pin and Money Hole Peter Richards and Don Bates (dead heat), No. 15 best third shot Peter Beazley, No. 16 long drive Geoff Hall.
