The Pizza and Pads fundraising night at Laura’s Wine bar saw 4000 sanitary items collected for charity organisation Share the Dignity.
The event, organised by Northam Chamber of Commerce’s Esther Bliss saw locals share in wine and a slice of pizza while dropping off a donation of sanitary products for Share the Dignity.
Share the Dignity is an organisation that supplies women who are victim to homelessness and domestic violence with sanitary products.
The night saw the collection of 1523 sanitary napkins, 2468 tampons and 2 menstrual cups.
Ms Bliss said she was overwhelmed with the response from the event.
“Even if people couldn’t make it on the night they donated to the cause,” she said.
