ON Saturday, March 24 the Northam Cricket Association hosted a Pink Stumps charity fundraiser event at the Henry St Oval.
The evening began with the final game of the Northam Perth Scorchers Girls competition, which they just mixed up the teams so that everyone got a go and had some fun!
This was to celebrate a great season of girl’s cricket.
Each girl received a medallion for their efforts as well, with Molly Dickson being voted Player of the Match and rewarded with a signed WBBL Scorchers Hat, thanks to Madonna Blyth from the Western Australian Cricket Association.
On behalf of the Northam Cricket Association and Western Australian Cricket Association I would like to thank the following people for helping the girls’ competition grow while I have been busy with my new role: Kim Reid, Kristy Turner, Andrew and Kerry Vallance, Hayden Bishop and Matty Jankauskas.
Without you guys all helping in the coaching, scoring and umpiring it wouldn’t have been as great a season.
Your time and commitments are noticed.
Well done to all girls who participated over the Term 4 and Term 1 seasons; you did well!
Look forward to seeing you next season.
Cellarbrations @ Howletts T20 Men’s
Following the girls’ game we had the Cellarbrations @ Howletts T20 Men’s final from 5.15pm at the Henry St Oval between Grass Valley Cricket Club and Goomalling Cricket Club.
With Grass Valley batting first and posting a total of 4/103 (cc) it was up to Goomalling to chase it down.
Unfortunately with a middle order collapse the Gooma boys didn’t get the runs.
All proceeds of the night went to the Glenn McGrath Foundation for breast cancer.
