Northam Police have taken to Facebook to share the recent arrest of a 40-year-old Northam woman in relation to burglaries in Suburban Road and Broome Terrace.
“Burglaries in Suburban Road and Broome Terrace since the weekend have resulted in local police conducting inquiries at a number of addresses in the community,” Police said on Facebook.
The woman was charged with three counts of aggravated burglary, three counts of stealing and two counts of possessing stolen property.
“The females' bail was refused and attended court today,” Police said.
“The picture attached reflects the efforts that local police went to, recovering stolen property from two local burglaries and a metropolitan based burglary.”
Senior Sergeant Geoff Dickson, Officer in Charge of Northam Police Station said he acknowledges the impact of burglary as an invasive crime and the priority that police give to catching offenders who commit them.
"Having your house broken into is unsettling and leaves victims feeling ill at ease,” he said.
“It's great when we recover stolen property items quickly and get the chance to return often sentimental items, back to their rightful owner.
“It's even better when we advise them that we have charged someone for that act and have put them before the courts."
