Rural Bank has opened applications for its 2019 Ag Achievers graduate program to “Australia’s best and brightest” university graduates aspiring to become the next generation of rural leaders.
In 2019, Rural Bank’s program is being expanded, with an additional two places on offer.
The new- look Ag Achievers program will place a total of five graduates across Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and Victoria.
The program is tailored to the strengths and careers aspirations of each graduate, however, still ensuring a rounded experience that connects them to the Rural Bank customer as well as senior leaders across the organisation.
Successful applicants will enjoy rotations through each key business area of Rural Bank, with comprehensive training, hands-on experience and one-on-one coaching and mentoring with experienced agribusiness specialists, members of the Executive Committee and opportunities to work on key strategic projects.
“As the only Australian-owned and operated agribusiness bank in the country, Rural Bank is committed to backing the Australian farming community,” said Head of People and Culture at Rural Bank, Amanda Ewbank.
“Through our Ag Achievers program, we offer our graduates a career pathway across Australian agriculture and financial services, in a genuinely friendly and supporting environment.
“Being part of a small graduate intake means that graduates will have greater opportunities to shine and reach their potential for future roles in the Bank. It’s as much about the graduates’ experience as it is for the business’ benefit, meaning we gain so much from their inquisitive minds, as well as them challenging the way we do things and the energy they bring in learning about agribusiness.
“The expanded reach of the 2019 program highlights Rural Bank’s commitment to rural and regional communities.
“We are looking for recent graduates that have a genuine passion for Australian agriculture and share our commitment to helping our agricultural sector and farmers to grow.”
Kate Hemphill began her career journey with Rural Bank in the 2013 Ag Achievers program and has never looked back.
“The best part of the Ag Achievers Grad Program was the variety, and the opportunity to spend six months in three very different locations,” Ms Hemphill said.
At the end of the program, Kate took up a position in Shepparton, and has since progressed in her career to become an Agribusiness Relationship Manager (ARM).
“The Ag Achiever Graduate Program significantly assisted me in enhancing my organisation skills leading into the ARM role I am currently working in,” added Ms Hemphill.
Applicants to the 2019 Ag Achievers program are expected to have a genuine connection to the agricultural industry and its people.
Students must have completed an undergraduate degree in the last three years in a relevant discipline such as Agricultural Science, Agribusiness, Finance, Rural Valuations, IT, Marketing, HR or Commerce.
Successful graduates will benefit from a permanent role post-program within Rural Bank.
Applications are open until 1 April 2018.
