Youth Community Citizen of the Year award recipient Dakota Narrier was officially given her award at an afternoon tea at Avon Youth.
Northam Shire President Chris Antonio attended the afternoon tea alongside Avon Youth staff and Dakota’s family and friends.
Dakota was nominated for the award by youth worker Tricia Chrimes.
Ms Chrimes said Dakota was the first person who came to mind when she was asked to nominate someone for the award.
Mr Antonio read out a few of Dakota’s achievements.
“Dakota’s contribution towards the sporting community is tireless,” Mr Antonio said.
“She is always involved in these events, either by actively playing in the games, umpiring, or assisting the teams.”
“Dakota is role model within the community of the Wheatbelt, having gained the respect of both young and older generations.”
Dakota was unable to attend the original award ceremony.
