The Northam community has come together to raise funds for the family of Doug Fernihough, a race track employee struck by lighting in mid-November.
A Go Fund me page set up by Mr Fernihough’s niece Lee, had raised more than $7,800 for the family in just 25 days of the page being created. Niece, Lee Fernihough posted on the page calling out for support for the grieving family Doug left behind.
“This has happened so suddenly and we hope by raising some funds we can take the stress off his wife and two sons, and allow them to focus on grieving this terrible tragedy,” Ms Fernihough said via Go Fund Me.
With 250 shares on Facebook, members of the public left well wishes on the page.
