THE 40-over grand final took place over the weekend with Grass Valley coming out winners for an amazing fifth time in a row.
Balladong won the toss and elected to bat, they were quickly all out for 41 with Scott Romazs holding his bat all the way through their innings, finishing with 13 and Player of the Match. A few nerves started to kick in when Grass Valley found themselves 6/31, but Rhys Byfield and Glenn Smith steadied the ship chasing down the total in the 23rd over.
Over on Bert Hawke 2 Grass Valley Green played Bakers Hill for third place. Grass Valley Green batted first and made 150. Rob Sargeant top scored for Grass Valley Green with 45. Bakers Hill managed 91 in their 20 overs with Mick Carter top scoring on 48.

Then the awards for the 40/40 competition will be held on March 17 at the Bert Hawke Pavilion after a round of the T20 competition. The T20 comp starts in early February.
