THE American drivers for the USA v WA Sprintcar Speedweek are locked in.
Parker Price-Miller and Ryan Smith will be arriving on our shores for a WA Christmas before they take on the local brigade in the five-night series.
The action kicks off at the Perth Motorplex on December 26 before heading to Avon Valley Speedway on December 27 for night two. The third night will be held at Quit Bunbury Speedway on December 30 before returning to the Motorplex on January 1 and wrapping up in Bunbury on January 6.
After being a major part of the WA sprintcar landscape for many years the USA v WA Sprintcar Speedweek concept returned last summer and proved quite popular.
Smith is a third-generation racer who joined Phoenix Racing this year. The team scored its first victory in the All-Star Circuit of Champions - at Outlaw Speedway in July. Then in October Smith and the team finished second in points n the All Star series. That gave them the confidence to contest the World Finals with the World of Outlaws teams - Smith started on the outside pole and finished 10th in what was described as an incredible effort.
Towards the end of high school Parker Price-Miller opted to chase his dreams as a professional race car driver which eventually saw him race in both 360 and 410 sprintcars in America, as well as a speedcar. Earning the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget Series Rookie of the Year in 2013, Price-Miller won Rookie of the Year during the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl in 2014. Following his successful run at the Chili Bowl, he headed to Florida and picked up his first Sprint Car win as he topped a preliminary night win during the King of the 360's event at East Bay Raceway Park. As he continued to hone his craft, Price-Miller continued to find himself in victory lane as he raced his way through the Midwest.
In 2015 the youngster from Kokomo, Indiana started to make a name for himself as he was able to breakthrough and win his first All Star Circuit of Champions feature event. In 2016, Price-Miller had a bit of a breakout year as he won numerous races with various sanctioning bodies and claimed the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) Series Championship, and also won the Canadian Nationals. 2017 saw him broaden his horizons as he started out the year travelling from Florida to the West Coast with the World of Outlaws. Though he took his lumps to start the year, the hard work paid off as he was able to score his first World of Outlaws feature event win later in the spring before being named the driver of the Destiny Motorsports No. 4.
Make sure you’re trackside on December 27 at Avon Valley Speedway to witness 900hp 410 Sprintcar action.
