Northam Shire president Chris Antonio and deputy Michael Ryan met with the Senator of WA recently to discuss the future of Northam.
WA Liberal Senator Slade Brockman was in Northam for a Christmas party on Saturday with his fellow Liberal colleagues.
Mr Antonio and Mr Ryan borrowed an hour of the Senator's time to show him Mount Ommaney, the Northam Shire development video and to inform him of the changes happening in the Shire.
Mr Antonio said he wanted to showcase the benefits of the development taking place in the region.
“There is over $200 million that is being invested in the private and government sector. That’s never happened in Northams history,” he said.
“We’re not trying to boost the share price, were actually telling the truth about what is going on.”
Mr Brockman said the visit was a great opportunity to familiarise himself with the Shire.
“It’s good to see such positive things happening in another great regional centre of WA,” he said.
